Biography

Sam was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina, and is thankful that’s where he still gets to call home. He graduated from Laney High School in 2009 and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013. Sam attended the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2014, where he served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology. Upon graduating from law school in 2017, Sam was privileged to clerk for the Honorable Justice Cheri Beasley at the North Carolina Supreme Court prior to entering private practice in August 2018.

Since entering private practice, Sam has handled a variety of complex matters in civil litigation, with a primary focus in personal injury and construction insurance defense, defending several national insurance carriers. Sam joined David and Associates in July 2025 and now focuses his practice exclusively on plaintiff personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, and other serious personal injury claims throughout southeast North Carolina. His background in insurance defense gives him a unique perspective and strategic advantage when negotiating and litigating with insurers on behalf of those that have been injured.

In his free time, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife, his daughter, and his dog. He is an avid sports fan and always enjoys conversations about fantasy football or anything Tar Heels.
