Traffic crash kills high school athlete

| Oct 12, 2017 | Uncategorized |

All drivers have to be careful when they are on the road. There is a chance that a driver’s actions might end up causing an accident that leads to serious injuries or death. This was highlighted recently when a Southwest Guilford basketball player was killed in an accident.

The 16-year-old boy was with a friend who is a freshman at Guilford College. That friend was driving back from a Wake Forest-Florida State football game when the accident occurred.

The vehicle hit several trees in the median of the road after veering off the road to the right and then moving left across the lanes. It isn’t believed that speed was a factor in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He is now facing criminal charges for careless driving and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Support for the family of the young man who passed away has been coming in various forms. A former teammate notes that he was of good character and would want people to be happy right now.

This is a sad situation, but it is wake-up call for all drivers. You never know what is going to happen when you are on the road, so you should always be ready to react when something happens.

For men and women who lose a loved one in a traffic accident, there is the possibility of filing a claim for wrongful death. This can help with some of the expenses related to the death, such as the burial and funeral expenses.
