Aggressively Fighting for Injured Victims in North Carolina

3 injured in 3-vehicle crash in North Carolina

| Sep 18, 2014 | Uncategorized |

On the morning of Sept. 12, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol was on the scene of a three-vehicle accident that occurred near Camp Lejeune. The Marine base fire assets, military police and bystanders were able to extract a 54-year-old man from his burning SUV. The man reportedly underwent surgery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and was in recovery at the time of the report.

The two other drivers, a 43-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, also suffered injuries in the crash. They were transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities did not report on the conditions of the injured persons.

A trooper who responded to this car accident reported that the initial investigation showed that the SUV driver was traveling north when he swerved into the southbound traffic lanes and crashed head-on into the woman’s pickup truck. The pickup allegedly hit the guardrail and then collided with another pickup truck, which was being driven by the younger man.

When investigating car accidents, authorities often utilize crash reconstruction to determine possible causes of the collision. Following this investigation, criminal charges may or may not be filed against the at-fault driver. However, even if there are no criminal or misdemeanor violations, the injured parties may still decide to pursue a civil action suit.

A successful personal injury claim may allow a plaintiff to recover compensation for expenses like medical bills and lost wages. A personal injury attorney could obtain investigative reports and assist those who were injured by helping them file a civil lawsuit or handle insurance settlement negotiations.
