Aggressively Fighting for Injured Victims in North Carolina

North Carolina auto accident left 2 dead and at least 5 injured

| Mar 28, 2014 | Uncategorized |

Traveling during the night is usually dangerous and becomes even more so in the very early hours of the morning, particularly when drivers get sleepy. The cause of an auto accident that occurred just before 3 a.m. on a recent Wednesday has not yet been disclosed. The North Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal accident on I-95 in Johnston County.

A media report concerning the accident did not supply many details about what may have caused it. It is known that a northbound SUV apparently crossed over into the southbound traffic and struck an oncoming minivan.Troopers reported that two occupants of the minivan were killed in the accident and at least five people, from both vehicles, were injured.

Two of the injured were said to be children. All of the injured victims were transported to a nearby hospital. The I-95 remained closed for approximately three hours while the accident scene was cleared. In fatal accidents like this one, investigators typically seek to verify whether any of the drivers involved were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

When North Carolina residents are faced with the tragic consequences of an auto accident where they are injured or loved ones are killed, they retain the right to file personal injury or wrongful death claims in a civil court. If another party is found to be financially responsible for the accident, a court may award monetary relief. Although no amount of money can reduce the heartache brought about by such a tragedy, a monetary judgment may ease financial burdens for medical, funeral and burial expenses and/or other applicable damages as defined by our laws.
