Drunk driving accidents: Multi-car crash

There are responsibilities that residents of North Carolina must uphold when operating motor vehicles. The two most important ones are judgement and maintaining good vision. However, both of these are severely impaired when alcohol is consumed before driving, and this can cause accidents. A recent case, adding to the epidemic of drunk driving accidents, has left two people seriously injured.

North Carolina study: car accidents cause pregnancy complications

We know that car accidents are dangerous. For pregnant women, however, it can be even more treacherous to be involved in a car accident. A pregnant woman can withstand the everyday bump or nudge, but a car accident is a different story. A recent study involving almost 900,000 pregnant women in North Carolina, between 2001 and 2008, was published in the "American Journal of Preventive Medicine." This study proves just how dangerous car accidents during pregnancy can be.

North Carolina wrongful death: 1 pedestrian dead, 1 injured

A tragic North Carolina accident recently shook the community of the Cherokee Indian Reservation of Cherokee, killing one and injuring another. On the night of Oct. 8, at around 8:40 p.m., a police officer out of the Cherokee Indian Police Department hit two pedestrians with his patrol car while on duty near the 411-bypass. This police officer -- as well as his employer -- could very likely be facing wrongful death and personal injury litigation after his actions took the life of a fellow Native American and hurt another one.

North Carolina wrongful death: Woman hit while refueling her car

A devastating accident has occurred on the highway killing a 25-year-old woman and injuring another. Another motorist, a 55-year-old male driver involved in the accident, is now facing a charge of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. North Carolina authorities do not believe that the other driver was under the influence of any substance, however, he may still be subject to a wrongful death claim brought on by family members.

North Carolina accident - multiple wrongful death claims possible

Bicycling is much more just a means of transportation to some individuals. It can represent a form of stress relief and exercise which allows personal relationship to grow and develop. Sadly, some tragic auto accidents involving bikers occur on our highways. Wrongful death claims could potentially be filed in civil court after the recent deaths of two North Carolina cyclists.
