The biggest risks for young farm workers

A lot of young people get their first jobs working on farms. It's a very hands-on occupation, something you can learn as you go, and an industry in which labor is always a necessity. As they learn, though, these young workers face some serious hazards. According to the Occupation Safety and Health Administration, the following are some of the biggest risks:

Death due to the negligence of another

Unfortunately, many North Carolina residents lose their lives as a result of negligence or intentional act on the part of another person. The at-fault person may be held financially responsible for the person's death even though no criminal charges are filed or if they, a conviction is not obtained. The reason is that the proof required in a civil case is less stringent than that in a criminal trial.

Fiery crash in North Carolina kills 2

Police in North Carolina say that a Toyota sedan was being driven recklessly and at a high rate of speed before both of its occupants lost their lives in a fiery crash on July 28. They were pronounced dead by rescue workers at the scene. The accident took place in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Davidson County at about 10:18 p.m.

Chain reaction crashes pose deadly risk to motorists

Chain reaction crashes, whether at an intersection with a stop light or on the highway, caused by construction, or all too often, by another car or truck accident, there is always a danger that a driver in a vehicle may fail to notice the line of slowing vehicles.

Tow truck driver struck, killed in Wilson County accident

A tow truck driver who was helping a stranded motorist was apparently struck and killed by another vehicle on Dec. 1 in Wilson County. According to authorities, the crash happened on Interstate 95 in the southbound lanes near Interstate 795.

Minor killed in drunk driving accident in North Carolina

A minor was killed in an accident involving a drunk driver in Raleigh on Oct. 14. According to authorities, the accident happened when the 49-year-old female driver lost control of her vehicle. She allegedly hit a speed limit sign and several trees before the vehicle rolled over.

Wrongful death crash kills North Carolina tow truck operator

An accident that happened on the highway is still being investigated by authorities. The deadly accident killed a North Carolina tow truck driver. In cases like these, the family may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the other party.

North Carolina woman killed in a car accident

Losing a loved one can devastate family and friends, especially when the death was preventable. A fatally injured 29-year-old woman was recently left lying in the street. Apparently, the North Carolina woman was killed in a car accident and the driver took off from the scene. Authorities are still on the hunt for the alleged hit-and-run driver.
